Future Stuff ::1:: Been Up All Night

[This was not clicking for some reason. He has been staring at these reports for the past hour and half, nothing having been accomplished besides from papers being shuffled around in a semblance of productivity and knives thrown into the pillar behind him out of sheer frustration. His fingers tapping along the worn metal to keep himself from doing further property damage at this rate.

The bottom line was that stress was gnawing at him.

Not from the job though. If anything, reports should came as second nature after the past few months and coordinating had been relatively easy once the rough first week passed by. Being a vanguard should cause less stress than doing actually fieldwork yet here he was at a breaking point almost.

There was nothing. Absolutely nothing. Those stupid letters and photos and other bullshit weren't coming in anymore.

Something had to have happened and he's stuck here in this goddamn tower like a fresh rezzed moron.

His hands were effectively tied as well. No one could be sent out without the other two's approval and even then it'd be brought forward to discussion by the head vanguard. Which means that nothing could happen for days and he'll be sitting on his ass like he already was. All it did was make him all the more frustrated about having given up his freedom to leave as he so pleased because at least then someone would be out there trying to figure out what happened.

The hunter buries his face in his hands with an exhausted sigh leaving him. He probably looked like hell at this rate. Throwing himself into long hours had made his sleep schedule an abysmal handful of hours in the past few days. Half the time he didn't know how he wasn't passing out during meetings. Be easy to. Pull the hood further down, lean down on the table and maybe get an hour or two of on and off rest. Might be the best time to try it out to be quite honest since the hall was dead before attempting it when there'd be actual repercussions to getting caught.

He grunts after stretching out on the table some, pillowing his head with his arms for something close to comfortable. Shade is called out of transmat to keep a watch on things while an attempt at a nap was made. The ghost whirling softly in concern but does as told.

Things suck. Might as well try to ignore it for the time being.]

Hm I could definitely be alright with being the best for you. But I would destroy you in a fight. So you might as well put in your entire effort rather than half-assing it.

[A small kiss on the cheek before getting up and grabbing his clothes, at the very least sliding on things onto his lower half after getting cleaned up some.]

Probably should let me change the sheets. Knock out some small chores and whatnot.

Hey, give me some credit, I'm pretty good.

[He rolls his eyes good naturedly, but moves to sit up and stretch sparing a glance to the mess.]

Hey I got it. Go relax or something, promise.

Fine, I'll give that you're pretty good in a couple things. I don't know if beating me in a fight is one of them.

[It's a gentle tease really since he knows fully well that right now the titan had more practice than he had in the last month alone. Being a vanguard had its perks but being able to train without some kind of scheduling issue wasn't one of them sometimes.]

You sure? I mean alright if you say so. I'll be downstairs when you need me.

[He moves in close to steal a soft yet drawn out kiss from him before heading off downstairs, rubbing the back of his neck as he tries to figure out what exactly he should do in the meantime. Honestly there wasn't too much to do besides from reports. There's a soft sigh as the hunter heads over to the back room to flop onto the couch and starts pulling up the necessary maps, papers and data streaming on tacpads.

Might as well be somewhat productive.]

Gives me a goal to work for then, yeah? Gonna beat you at least once. Maybe not any more than that, 'cause I'm not gonna get too ambitious here.

[But the kiss is certainly appreciated, and though there's a noise of disappointment when the hunter finally pulls away and gets himself together, he did say that he'd take care of things, and so he pushes himself up, stretching to try to work out a slight twinge in his shoulder.

Right, sheets. Sheets and disposing of things and cleaning and- well, the quicker he gets started, the quicker he can be on to better things.

It doesn't take too terribly long, and as soon as he's cleaned himself up sufficently, he's wandering down the stairs, trying to figure out where James had wandered off to. Not that he's going to bother the man if he's decided to be busy, but there's still that sense of needing to at least be somewhere near the man.]

[He's situated himself at the back coach still, going over new scout reports that had worked their way onto his data pads in order for him to give them a look over before then relating his thoughts over to the other vanguard. Yea he's pretty certain that he should be taking a breaking right now from all of this especially after the express trip to stressed out that it had placed him in along with the titan's disappearance off of comms. Still it needed to be done sooner rather than later if only out of habit.

He notices the wandering footsteps but doesn't say nothing because yea he was doing work and more likely than not Liam was not going to approve of that during his vacation. Especially after the engagement the other day. Both of them were supposed to be relaxing together and doing minimum work.

Definitely at the very least going to get some grumbling. But at least tonight would be in a clean bed though.]

[Was that noise? Movement? Really, it shouldn't be so hard to track a hunter down. Then again, he's looking for the top of the top, so it shouldn't really surprise him. Still, he's always been amazed by James' ability to make himself disappear, literally and metaphorically.

The back though, he really should have thought of that in the first place. After all, it seemed to be the place his fiancee liked to retreat to, given the chance, and as he pokes his head around the corner he furrows his brows at the sight.]

Already so excited to get back to the not-so-fun grind?

[He's definitely teasing, and he lets it show in his tone and the way he makes his way over and flops dramatically onto the couch beside the other man, head resting in James' lap and one arm thrown over his eyes. Definitely still demanding attention, as always.]

[A Venusian report is given a brief once over before he turns his head at the voice and taking note of the slight disapproval, having been correct in Liam not particularly being fond of what he was up to. Though now the back wasn't so dull but would be less productive.]

You told me to go do something while you took care of upstairs. I was merely following your suggestion.

[Soon enough there's a titan in his lap and he lets out a soft sigh accompanied by a smirk. Damn idiot was wanting attention with that overdramatic display so he starts to card his fingers through Liam's hair as he goes back to reading.]

Going to be a distraction now?

Mmmm, I mean, I guess you're kind of right on that.

[But there's a content noise offered at the touches, even as he moves to place himself more firmly in the hunter's lap. Definitely too much attention being given to the reports.]

Aren't I always?

Excatly so you can't really complain about me picking this. I could've been gear maintaining or so on. This is better of the options.

[He gives a small grunt at the shift but he's still going to smile and laugh softly, shifting and leaning down in order to press a kiss on his forehead.]

Best distraction but not too much of one yet.

I mean, you could've. But I'd find a way to distract you there too.

[While the kiss is nice, it's far too short for his liking, and so he offers a discontented noise as he reaches up to wind a hand around the back of James' neck and tug him down into a proper one.]

Could be more of one.

Alright I'll give you that one. You've got a rather uncanny ability of being able to doing so.

[He wasn't going to complain about that yet and certainly wasn't going to do so about the kiss. It calls for another shift but he's able to continue leaning down comfortably.]

Oh really now? Jealous of my paperwork?

[Without a doubt now, he was in trouble for picking reports over actual relaxing.]

Mmm...well, I mean, it's getting all of your attention right now. Hands all over it. Such fierce concentration on it....a guy could get pretty jealous, just sayin'.

[He's grinning contentedly though, gently leaning up to knock his forehead against the hunter's. Relaxation, that was what all this should be about, the reports would still be there at the end of the day.]

If you want my hands all over you, you only ever have to ask. Make sure to give you the proper attention you deserve.

[The reports are nearly forgotten in favor of teasing back with the titan. He presses a trail of soft kisses along his jaw.]

Besides you'll always be first no matter what. No report can take that away. Promise.

[He's certainly teasing back, though there's a quiet, content noise at the kisses as he absentmindedly draws his fingers over the length of James' arm.]

You're always first. Always.

It could be. Definitely a possibility though that has some other variations to it as well. Think about what you might like and all.

[This was a lot more interesting than the paperwork that was laid out on the table and he was glad for the distraction nonetheless. His head dips down sneak a kiss onto Liam's pulse.]

Good to know. Never going to forget that either.

Other variations? Aren't I the luckiest guy around to have such a creative fiance.

[But there's a contented, pleased noise at the kiss, and he absentmindedly reaches up to cup James' face with one hand, the pad of his thumb absentmindedly tracing across his cheek.]

Luckiest titan ever. Besides I need to keep you on your toes after all. Or at least try to.

[The gentle touch will never get old for him as he leans into it and closes his eyes, giving a small pleased hum. He wouldn't trade this for anything.]

Y'always do. 's a good thing.

[But this is nice. It's calm, it's quiet, and it's tender, especially after everything earlier, and he offers a quiet, content noise in response.]

I suppose it is if you say so.

[He presses a gentle kiss to the palm of Liam's hand before dipping down to nuzzle into the crux of his shoulder. This was such a change of pace and he wasn't going to complain about it. Certainly wasn't paying any attention those damn reports now.]

I do.

[There's something downright tender about everything, and there's a slight sense of victory behind everything. Take that reports. But he has far better things to pay attention to at the time, such as craning his neck and gently urging James up from his shoulder so that he can steal a soft, lingering kiss.]

[The kiss is a worthy replacement of simply bury his face into the other's shoulder and he takes his time in prolonging it as much as he's allowed. He pulls back in order to move to be over the titan, resting a forearm into the cushions while his hand goes down to his hip.]

At least you have my hands on you. I guess you won the attention battle.

[There's a momentary pout and over-dramatic roll of his eyes as the other pulls away, but he can't keep the act up long before he's smiling again, tipping his head back and letting his eyes slide shut as he reaches up and winds his fingers into James' hair.]

Call it a unintended win. 's a good one too.

Hm I'm not too sure about that. It seems like you had that all planned out.

[The way his head tilts back is perfect for him to sneak a couple of kisses along Liam's pulse, keeping things gentle and slow. A pleased noise at the hand in his hair while he works.]

Mmm, I mean, at least some of it.

[Oh, that's definitely nice, and he runs his fingers through James' hair as he works, a slow, shaky exhale the best response he can muster.]

Hm that changes things then. Sounds like you weren't prepared for anything more.

[It's a simple tease and he takes his time pressing kisses in trail along the side of his neck until finding a good spot. He starts working a dark mark into the titan's skin retaliation for the ones he now bears.]

I don't think you can handle things you didn't plan out.
