Future Stuff ::1:: Been Up All Night

[This was not clicking for some reason. He has been staring at these reports for the past hour and half, nothing having been accomplished besides from papers being shuffled around in a semblance of productivity and knives thrown into the pillar behind him out of sheer frustration. His fingers tapping along the worn metal to keep himself from doing further property damage at this rate.

The bottom line was that stress was gnawing at him.

Not from the job though. If anything, reports should came as second nature after the past few months and coordinating had been relatively easy once the rough first week passed by. Being a vanguard should cause less stress than doing actually fieldwork yet here he was at a breaking point almost.

There was nothing. Absolutely nothing. Those stupid letters and photos and other bullshit weren't coming in anymore.

Something had to have happened and he's stuck here in this goddamn tower like a fresh rezzed moron.

His hands were effectively tied as well. No one could be sent out without the other two's approval and even then it'd be brought forward to discussion by the head vanguard. Which means that nothing could happen for days and he'll be sitting on his ass like he already was. All it did was make him all the more frustrated about having given up his freedom to leave as he so pleased because at least then someone would be out there trying to figure out what happened.

The hunter buries his face in his hands with an exhausted sigh leaving him. He probably looked like hell at this rate. Throwing himself into long hours had made his sleep schedule an abysmal handful of hours in the past few days. Half the time he didn't know how he wasn't passing out during meetings. Be easy to. Pull the hood further down, lean down on the table and maybe get an hour or two of on and off rest. Might be the best time to try it out to be quite honest since the hall was dead before attempting it when there'd be actual repercussions to getting caught.

He grunts after stretching out on the table some, pillowing his head with his arms for something close to comfortable. Shade is called out of transmat to keep a watch on things while an attempt at a nap was made. The ghost whirling softly in concern but does as told.

Things suck. Might as well try to ignore it for the time being.]

I suppose it is if you say so.

[He presses a gentle kiss to the palm of Liam's hand before dipping down to nuzzle into the crux of his shoulder. This was such a change of pace and he wasn't going to complain about it. Certainly wasn't paying any attention those damn reports now.]

I do.

[There's something downright tender about everything, and there's a slight sense of victory behind everything. Take that reports. But he has far better things to pay attention to at the time, such as craning his neck and gently urging James up from his shoulder so that he can steal a soft, lingering kiss.]

[The kiss is a worthy replacement of simply bury his face into the other's shoulder and he takes his time in prolonging it as much as he's allowed. He pulls back in order to move to be over the titan, resting a forearm into the cushions while his hand goes down to his hip.]

At least you have my hands on you. I guess you won the attention battle.

[rocketsout]

[There's a momentary pout and over-dramatic roll of his eyes as the other pulls away, but he can't keep the act up long before he's smiling again, tipping his head back and letting his eyes slide shut as he reaches up and winds his fingers into James' hair.]

Call it a unintended win. 's a good one too.

Hm I'm not too sure about that. It seems like you had that all planned out.

[The way his head tilts back is perfect for him to sneak a couple of kisses along Liam's pulse, keeping things gentle and slow. A pleased noise at the hand in his hair while he works.]

Mmm, I mean, at least some of it.

[Oh, that's definitely nice, and he runs his fingers through James' hair as he works, a slow, shaky exhale the best response he can muster.]

Hm that changes things then. Sounds like you weren't prepared for anything more.

[It's a simple tease and he takes his time pressing kisses in trail along the side of his neck until finding a good spot. He starts working a dark mark into the titan's skin retaliation for the ones he now bears.]

I don't think you can handle things you didn't plan out.

[rocketsout]

Never said I couldn't handle anything.

[But the retort catches in his throat at the sudden spark of pain, and he makes no effort to bite back the shaky noise it draws from him, instead choosing to tighten his grip in the hunter's hair and drag him closer.]

Part of being a titan, being prepared for the unexpected.

I think that might be a part of being a guardian in general. Always being prepared. I figured titans were the ones who tried to take on everything head on.

[Once satisfied with the way the mark turns out, he soothes the area over with a brush of his tongue before going back to soft kisses. His head arching up into the titan's hand with a pleased note.]

Hey, kinda like taking this like this head on.

[There's humor in his tone, and he grins as he slips his free hand up the.back of James' shirt, lightly dragging his nails down the.man's spine.]

I guess which head I get depends on the situation then.

[He nuzzles into the crux of Liam's shoulder before arching up into the touch, tightening his grip on the couch as he shivers.]

Both seem to get the job done though.

Hey, sometimes it's easier to think with one rather than the other.

[His.voice is thick with amusement as he ducks his head, nuzzling against the hollow of James' throat before biting gently.]

[A light hitch in his breath before he's tilting his head back a tad further to give him ample room to work with.]

It's easy to tell which one now. Plenty of practice after all.

Hey, usually when one stops working, the other takes over.

[He laughs against the column of James' throat, warm and rich, before dragging his tongue along the man's pulse. One hand strays to his hip, pulling him closer with a slight rock upwards, but things are kept slow, almost lazy.]

I'm starting to see which one is winning the whole control front.

[A low groan slips out, running his fingers through his hair before giving a soft laugh. He rolls his hips in return though keeping things on a low burn.]

If you're thinking the one upstairs, you win.

[It's honestly a miracle he can even still joke at this point, but there's still so much amusement as he exhales shakily and leans up to steal a long, slow kiss.]

Trust me when I say I know when the one downstairs is in control.

[All of his attention goes to the kiss and he continues the slow rock of his hips against him. Pretty sure that the titan was going to change from upstairs to downstairs thinking sooner rather than later.]

You complaining about it?

[It's breathy, teasing as he finally breaks the kiss, and the words trail off into a shaky laugh as his hands wander down the hunter's thighs, tracing nonsensical patterns. It's good, it's always good, but there's something that strikes so deep in these moments, when he's able to be so close, so intimate, and he's grinning against the column of James' neck as he slowly drags his mouth along the man's pulse.]

No why would I do such a thing like that?

[There's a brief flash of a grin after the kiss until his eyes flicker down to watch the titan's wandering hands and humming contently. He would only give up time with Liam unless it was absolutely necessary and well reports could live without being touched since his hands were preoccupied elsewhere but oh the makes him groan softly.]

Only saying that I know, dork.

[rocketsout]

That's what I like to hear.

[He grins wolfishly into James' shoulder, letting his hands continue to roam. It's soft, it's sweet, and it's oh-so light the way he touches the other, fingertips tracing along reddened marks from earlier activities and occasionally letting his nails run lightly over some of the darker ones.]

[sword_breaker]

[The gentle brushes of fingertips against the bruising bites and light scratches made him arch and shiver but he loved how soft they were. There was no real demand in them which he was fine with. He moves in order to nuzzle into the titan's neck with a low hum, pleased with the affection.]

And I know what you like.

[rocketsout]

You do.

[There's laughter in that, warm and rich and affectionate, and it trails off into a pleased noise as his hands wander lower. Fingers slip between the hunter's thighs, touches light and gentle and certainly not enough to satisfy.]

[There's a sharp breath from the hunter before a soft shaky groan slips out, rolling his hips in response. He wanted more but he was certain that Liam wasn't going to let him off easy.]

Dammit.

[rocketsout]

Problem?

[He's grinning against James' throat, fingers wandering up his length so that he can rub the pad of his thumb over the head, catching some of the slick there.]

N-no. I'm fine.

[By the traveler he wasn't going to move from this couch if the titan kept this up. His breath catching in his throat before coming hissed out through clenched teeth.]
