[This was not clicking for some reason. He has been staring at these reports for the past hour and half, nothing having been accomplished besides from papers being shuffled around in a semblance of productivity and knives thrown into the pillar behind him out of sheer frustration. His fingers tapping along the worn metal to keep himself from doing further property damage at this rate.

The bottom line was that stress was gnawing at him.

Not from the job though. If anything, reports should came as second nature after the past few months and coordinating had been relatively easy once the rough first week passed by. Being a vanguard should cause less stress than doing actually fieldwork yet here he was at a breaking point almost.

There was nothing. Absolutely nothing. Those stupid letters and photos and other bullshit weren't coming in anymore.

Something had to have happened and he's stuck here in this goddamn tower like a fresh rezzed moron.

His hands were effectively tied as well. No one could be sent out without the other two's approval and even then it'd be brought forward to discussion by the head vanguard. Which means that nothing could happen for days and he'll be sitting on his ass like he already was. All it did was make him all the more frustrated about having given up his freedom to leave as he so pleased because at least then someone would be out there trying to figure out what happened.

The hunter buries his face in his hands with an exhausted sigh leaving him. He probably looked like hell at this rate. Throwing himself into long hours had made his sleep schedule an abysmal handful of hours in the past few days. Half the time he didn't know how he wasn't passing out during meetings. Be easy to. Pull the hood further down, lean down on the table and maybe get an hour or two of on and off rest. Might be the best time to try it out to be quite honest since the hall was dead before attempting it when there'd be actual repercussions to getting caught.

He grunts after stretching out on the table some, pillowing his head with his arms for something close to comfortable. Shade is called out of transmat to keep a watch on things while an attempt at a nap was made. The ghost whirling softly in concern but does as told.

Things suck. Might as well try to ignore it for the time being.]

[His other arm wraps loosely around James' waist as he leans up to gently kiss at the man's collar.]

I think you're stuck. Totally stuck.

[A pleased noise slipping out before he's moving back down against the titan. He reaches down to collect some of the fallen papers and especially the tacpads back onto the table.]

Maybe for a little bit longer.

Clean it up later.

[His free hand reaches out to gently take Jame's, entwining their fingers together.]

Work's not important.

It is to me. Besides I'm not the one who made said mess.

[But now he didn't have any free hands to rectify the situation. So he huffs in faked annoyance and rests his head on Liam's chest.]

I can think of like a hundred things more important than work and they all start with 'J' and end in 'ames' okay? It's definitely not important.

That's because one, it's you. Two, you supposed to be relaxing anyway after returning home. Then three, you just got laid. Kind of hard to not be thinking like that.

Yeah? And all three of those also relate to 'J' and 'ames' too? See, totally more important.

You've also got control over my hands right now so I can't exactly do anything regardless. So there. I won't do anything unless it involves a certain titan. Are you happy now?

Mmm yeah, I think so. I think that should be how it is all the time. Good plan, I like it.

You know I'm sure that's kidnapping of a vanguard. They usually frown upon that kind of infringement of authority. You might get punished.

Punished? If it's by the vanguard I'm allegedly kidnapping,.I think that sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

Well punishment can tend to vary. Denial of certain vanguard offerings. Forced patrol. Clean up duty. Multiple options available honestly.

Is this clean up duty at least fun clean up duty. Like, naked clean up duty?

[sword_breaker]

I don't know. Maybe, maybe not. I can't say for certain right now so you'd just have to wait and see what you wind up getting. You'll live with either one.

Hey, could just beg for mercy from the might vanguard. See where that penance takes me.

I'm not as easily swayed as you think I am when it comes to vanguard business. Besides what am I to do mercy? There's no worth to it and doesn't fix the mess of whatever had occurred. There's a reason I got the job.

I mean, I could make it worth it yeah? Send some of the new rezzers to clean things up, they need the practice.

[sword_breaker]

I don't think they would appreciate you siccing the vanguard onto them. Last time I checked even somewhat older guardians didn't appreciate that being done. Besides they could be useful elsewhere like combing for resources.

[A smirk breaks out at that. So long ago but he can recall the groaning and whining heard back in the cosmodrome.]

Or, or, hear me out, they could not do that and do all the little things instead to leave the big strong guardians and the heroic vanguard to a little quiet time together.

[How could he forget that punishment from so long ago though? Cruel and unusual.]

And who are you to argue with a Vanguard? That keeps them out and about plenty long enough for the ridiculous host leader to entertain a discussion I'm sure.

[A smirk ever present now. He was allowed to tease over such things especially since it was all good natured.]

Unless said leader would like to join them. Be a good example and all.

Psh, when has a host leader ever been a good influence. Better to stay back and be bad and deal with the vanguard. 'specially when the vanguard's as easy on the eyes as a particular one is.

I'm thinking that almost every host leader has been fundamentally good until you came along to be the bad boy of the lot. You're almost as awful as a first year guardian again. Certainly full of smooth talk to try and get your way.

[Quick kiss pressed to the mark on his neck.] Maybe you should be the one to be punished.

What can I say? All work and no play makes another Zavala.

[He cracks one eye open to look over at the hunter.]

Like I said, sign me up.

Fair point. Don't need another commander just yet.

[He pushes up to sit with a soft grunt, rubbing the back of his neck.]

Besides thing you've had enough fun with the vanguard for today. Twice and pretty much back to back.

Don't think I'd make a good Zavala anyways. Not enough stick up there, really.

[His hand falls to James' hip, and he presents a mock terrified expression.]

Traveler no, I don't think I even could. Must be getting old, think you wore me out.

[But the expression melts into a sincere, if somewhat teasing, grin.]
