Future Stuff ::1:: Been Up All Night

[This was not clicking for some reason. He has been staring at these reports for the past hour and half, nothing having been accomplished besides from papers being shuffled around in a semblance of productivity and knives thrown into the pillar behind him out of sheer frustration. His fingers tapping along the worn metal to keep himself from doing further property damage at this rate.

The bottom line was that stress was gnawing at him.

Not from the job though. If anything, reports should came as second nature after the past few months and coordinating had been relatively easy once the rough first week passed by. Being a vanguard should cause less stress than doing actually fieldwork yet here he was at a breaking point almost.

There was nothing. Absolutely nothing. Those stupid letters and photos and other bullshit weren't coming in anymore.

Something had to have happened and he's stuck here in this goddamn tower like a fresh rezzed moron.

His hands were effectively tied as well. No one could be sent out without the other two's approval and even then it'd be brought forward to discussion by the head vanguard. Which means that nothing could happen for days and he'll be sitting on his ass like he already was. All it did was make him all the more frustrated about having given up his freedom to leave as he so pleased because at least then someone would be out there trying to figure out what happened.

The hunter buries his face in his hands with an exhausted sigh leaving him. He probably looked like hell at this rate. Throwing himself into long hours had made his sleep schedule an abysmal handful of hours in the past few days. Half the time he didn't know how he wasn't passing out during meetings. Be easy to. Pull the hood further down, lean down on the table and maybe get an hour or two of on and off rest. Might be the best time to try it out to be quite honest since the hall was dead before attempting it when there'd be actual repercussions to getting caught.

He grunts after stretching out on the table some, pillowing his head with his arms for something close to comfortable. Shade is called out of transmat to keep a watch on things while an attempt at a nap was made. The ghost whirling softly in concern but does as told.

Things suck. Might as well try to ignore it for the time being.]

I ugh...what?

[That makes him blush more than he can remember and pulls the hood down of the hoodie to cover his face. That was absolutely awful, points go to the titan. However he does wrap his arms around Liam and curls into him happily.]

[rocketsout]

You heard me.

[Nope, that reaction will never not be cute, and it's so very nice to have the hunter with him after so long. He laughs quietly under his breath, leaning down to place a gentle kiss on his head.]

Sleep now though.

[sword_breaker]

Nope. No proof that I did. I heard nothing.

[A sigh later and his eyes are closed, burying his face into Liam's shoulder to get as comfortable as he could manage.]

Yea...sleep.

[rocketsout]

[No need to mention it again, because the weariness of patrol and the lack of sleep the previous night are more than enough to drag him down into unconsciousness, even as he curls around James protectively.

It isn't until a very long time after that there's any stirring of consciousness, and when there is, it's punctuated by slight confusion. It takes more than a few moments for his sleep-addled brain to discern where he actually is. He's warm, comfortable, and there's a solid presence next to him, which he rolls over and throws one arm around, burying his face into the hunter's chest with a quiet noise.]

[Sleep is a wonderful thing especially how crappy it has been for the past couple of days and so he buries his face into the titan's shoulder during his sleep. However several hours later he stirs at the movement next to him, letting out a grumble in annoyance and wondering what is going on--

Oh. Liam. Right.

He hums contently, winding his fingers into the titan's hair before closing his eyes. This was a big improvement. However he'd need Shade to go off to alert that he'd be taking a few days to recover. Blame being sick or something.]

[There are fingers in his hair and it's basically the best thing ever, or at least it is as far as he's concerned for the time being. He gives a pleased noise, leaning up into the touch and hugging the hunter sleepily.]

Mornin'.

[sword_breaker]

Morning...or closer to afternoon really.

[He leans down to kiss Liam's temple softly, rubbing his shoulders gently for a brief moment before settling back.]

Good sleep?

[rocketsout]

Whatever, 's a time.

[He's not quite awake yet, and everything is warm and nice, and so he nuzzles into James' shirt, with a yawn.]

Good 'cause you're here.

[sword_breaker]

Fair enough.

[He laughs softly, resting his chin on the top of the titan's head.]

Sap.

[rocketsout]

Well yeah.

[But it's nice and slow and quiet, and he's going to take every chance he can to enjoy it.]

Good to see the rest of the vanguard didn't come and grab you.

[sword_breaker]

Well they know I've requested some recovery time. They've been worried about me anyway. So it works out.

[rocketsout]

Worried about you?

[There's also a small, sleepy sense of worry in his tone as he lazily leans up to steal a kiss.]

Should be taking care of you. Al that.

Just have had crappy sleep and it was starting to show. So it's all fine. They'll cover for me since I've done a majority of the reports.

[He shifts down in order to kiss him better.]

They try their best.

I'm sorry...promise, we'll get you sleep.

[Good, the kiss is good. And he reaches up to wind his fingers into James' hair.]

...lmme make breakfast today.

[sword_breaker]

What? No, you're fine. It was my decision to do reports so late those days.

[The kiss is more than good and he moves to press his forehead against Liam's, letting out a pleased noise and closing his eyes. His hands going down to rest on the titan's waist.]

That sounds pretty good. But I don't want to leave just yet.

[rocketsout]

Doesn't mean )that you shouldn't be getting sleep.

[But that's nice, very nice, and he leans down to nuzzle into James' neck.]

Mmmyeah. 'S nice.

[sword_breaker]

Eh I've been trying to do my job.

[He tilts his head to expose more of his neck, smirking.]

Definitely. Might have to drag me out. That or tempt me out.

[rocketsout]

Ehhh, screw the job.

[Oh that's nice, that's definitely nice. He grins sleepily and presses a soft kiss to James' throat.]

Tempt you?

[sword_breaker]

Thank you very much I like that job. I earned it.

[Theres a pleased noise and he's moving down to kiss Liam's temple with a quiet laugh.]

Yea you heard me right.

[rocketsout]

You did. Still boring.

[He's amused though, laughing under his breath.]

Ch, how am I supposed to tempt you then, hm?

[sword_breaker]

I do get to go out unlike the Heads. I would say that's not terrible. It could be far worse.

I don't know. Maybe you should figure that out. Get creative. I'm not going to hand you an idea that easy.

[rocketsout]

Eeehhh. Still fuck the job. Should come out sometime, kill things, run around. Like old times.

[He nuzzles closer, peppering the hunter's neck with small, chaste kisses.]

C'mon now, cooking for you, that's a decent bribe. Take pity, 'm still half asleep.

What on a fireteam? I've only had this job for a couple of months. I don't know what they'll think of me running around in the wilds. I'll have to poke around. You'd have to deal with a vanguard shadowing you though.

[There's a small huff then he's pushing himself up, trying to untwist his shirt and looking down at him.]

I don't know about you cooking if you're tired still. But the bed is rather good right now.

Could teach my guys a thing or two. Bet they'd do better with a vanguard around.

[Aw, movement. He props himself up on his elbows, looking up at the hunter with a toothy, albeit half-awake, grin.]

I mean there's that too. Iffin that's what you're up to. Because, I mean.

I'll see what I can do. Maybe do a good expedition with less comm problems.

[A light joke accompanied by a quiet laugh under his breath, leaning back slightly.]

Because you mean what exactly? Hm?
