[This was not clicking for some reason. He has been staring at these reports for the past hour and half, nothing having been accomplished besides from papers being shuffled around in a semblance of productivity and knives thrown into the pillar behind him out of sheer frustration. His fingers tapping along the worn metal to keep himself from doing further property damage at this rate.

The bottom line was that stress was gnawing at him.

Not from the job though. If anything, reports should came as second nature after the past few months and coordinating had been relatively easy once the rough first week passed by. Being a vanguard should cause less stress than doing actually fieldwork yet here he was at a breaking point almost.

There was nothing. Absolutely nothing. Those stupid letters and photos and other bullshit weren't coming in anymore.

Something had to have happened and he's stuck here in this goddamn tower like a fresh rezzed moron.

His hands were effectively tied as well. No one could be sent out without the other two's approval and even then it'd be brought forward to discussion by the head vanguard. Which means that nothing could happen for days and he'll be sitting on his ass like he already was. All it did was make him all the more frustrated about having given up his freedom to leave as he so pleased because at least then someone would be out there trying to figure out what happened.

The hunter buries his face in his hands with an exhausted sigh leaving him. He probably looked like hell at this rate. Throwing himself into long hours had made his sleep schedule an abysmal handful of hours in the past few days. Half the time he didn't know how he wasn't passing out during meetings. Be easy to. Pull the hood further down, lean down on the table and maybe get an hour or two of on and off rest. Might be the best time to try it out to be quite honest since the hall was dead before attempting it when there'd be actual repercussions to getting caught.

He grunts after stretching out on the table some, pillowing his head with his arms for something close to comfortable. Shade is called out of transmat to keep a watch on things while an attempt at a nap was made. The ghost whirling softly in concern but does as told.

Things suck. Might as well try to ignore it for the time being.]

[He comes back down with an armful of clothes to change into after his shower and lets out a soft laugh at the titan. Stalking over to the back of the couch, he takes his time in his movements to be as quiet as possible and placing a kiss on Liam's forehead.]

Well isn't this a change. Usually I'm the one catching a nap after breakfast. Might be getting old there, guardian. Retire and all.

[His arms rest on the back of the couch, smirking down at him. Shower can wait for now.It was amusing to have more energy than him for once.]

[Eh? What's that? That's a kiss, that's nice, and he moves to uncover one eye, raising a brow at the comment.]

'f I'm old, what does that make you? Ancient?

[Maybe that was a little mean, but he's joking, and he hauls himself up to steal a proper kiss with a hint of a smirk.]

Wow. Way to make me feel crappy as hell.

[However that kiss does stave off some of the effort put into his fake annoyance though he manages to give a small grunt and looks down at him.]

Maybe should let you stick to the couch.

Nah, see, means that you're tough as hell.

[He sighs dramatically, flopping back down.]

Banished in less than a day? Shitty new record.

Right. Uh hunh sure.

[He rolls his eyes with a soft laugh.]

You'd be the one to accomplish it. Sucks to be you. Anyway while you're all banished and everything, I'm going to take a shower.

[He furrows his brows at that, but manages a smirk back.]

Thought you wanted me in there too to.save on water, or is that part of the banishment too?

...didn't you just take one though? Before breakfast? I figured you had your fill of hot water for the day.

[Great now he's actually thinking about him joining as an actual possibility and it was supposed to be a quick shower after a workout. Nice going self.]

I mean the banishment was a maybe. Never said it was an actual thing. So...yea.

[Bingo, he's qt least gaining some points back from earlier.]

But I mean, you did say that I probably couldn't handle it, so-

[There's a hint of blush creeping into his cheeks but he crosses his arms and straightens out with a shrug.]

Can't handle the heat, stay out. Pure and simple rule of thumb right there.

Hey, I never said I couldn't. I think I'm pretty capable of handling it just fine.

[Nope, still smirking.]

Right, you may have to just prove that. Um....what do you mean 'or what'?

[He's digging himself a hole that was going to end up biting him in the ass soon.]

[Cue the heat spreading deeper throughout his cheeks as he holds his clothes and looks away.]

[Definitely still cute, and not actually the answer he'd expected. Not unwelcome, however, he can roll with it.]

Then I mean, go get in and this apparently old guardian will join you when he can roll off the couch.

I'll keep an eye out then.

[The hunter shrugs and heads off towards the shower, trying to rid of the damn blush that was plaguing him. It was probably just a bunch of teasing however there was an invitation he had given to the titan.

Alright, focus. Stripping down he starts up the shower and hums contently when the water reaches the right temperature, stepping in. Just keep a clear head.]

[Alright, mission success: the hunter is red-faced, and he feels as though he's somewhat redeemed himself from earlier. Which only leaves actually following through. Which means getting up.

Easier said than done.

He waits until he hears water running before he makes an attempt, grunting as something in his side protests again, but he powers through and makes it to his feet with only relative discomfort. Step one, complete.

Step two, shower. He haphazardly sheds his shirt at least as he makes his way over, but nothing more, instead sneaking into the bathroom and sitting on the counter.]

Hot enough yet?

[Oh son of a bitch. That'd be the titan. Whelp the whole clear head thing was going to wind up failing spectacularly now.

He turns his back to the shower's door but not before getting a confirming that yes that's Liam without a shirt on and is sitting there watching. Fantastic. Thankfully the hot water is starting to work up some steam.

The hunter starts washing himself, trying to ignore the titan mostly and pay more attention to the scars on his body.
You know that was a worthy way of focusing elsewhere.]

Well I'm in here, am I not? Clearly it's to my liking.

Can't argue with that logic.

[Definitely small talk, but he just raises a brow and doesn't make a move to do anything more. In fact, he does have the common sense to give the hunter a bit of privacy, instead focusing on the far wall for a bit. It would be one hell of an awful move to interrupt someone actually trying to clean up. That's for later, anyways. Can't back down from that unspoken dare.]

Exactly. Also what happened to the whole challenge that you were gunning to do, hm? Last I checked it wasn't sitting there, gawking at me. Though I am flattered nonetheless.

[Seriously. Even better now that Liam was trying to feign interest in the wall which means something is up. So yea he was going to call him out on it once more.]

Hey, I'm being totally polite, letting you clean up and all of that. But like, if you're that insistent-

[Getting called out? He's going to definitely take the bait though, sliding off the counter and shimmying out of his pants to kick them into the corner. After that, he's slipping into the shower behind the hunter with a raised brow and a cocky smirk.]

I wasn't insistent, ok? Just wondering and--

[That is a door being opened behind him and it's obvious that there's someone now behind him in here. Oh that was a definite thing. He glances back at Liam with a flush hitting his face.]

And you're now in here.

Well yeah. Of course. Duh.

[It's warm, it's nice, and James is blushing which is adorable. Basically a win win situation, and he grins toothily, crossing his arms and raising his brows.]

Duly noted.

[The blush deepens and nope he is focusing on the wall of the shower to enjoy the warm water and ignore the cocky as hell titan in with him.]

[Success again, and he laughs under his breath, leaning forward to press a kiss to the hunter's shoulder and steal more of the spray.]

[He lets out a low warning growl and pushes back against the titan in order to regain some of the lost water coverage, leaning his head back contently.]
