Future Stuff ::1:: Been Up All Night

[This was not clicking for some reason. He has been staring at these reports for the past hour and half, nothing having been accomplished besides from papers being shuffled around in a semblance of productivity and knives thrown into the pillar behind him out of sheer frustration. His fingers tapping along the worn metal to keep himself from doing further property damage at this rate.

The bottom line was that stress was gnawing at him.

Not from the job though. If anything, reports should came as second nature after the past few months and coordinating had been relatively easy once the rough first week passed by. Being a vanguard should cause less stress than doing actually fieldwork yet here he was at a breaking point almost.

There was nothing. Absolutely nothing. Those stupid letters and photos and other bullshit weren't coming in anymore.

Something had to have happened and he's stuck here in this goddamn tower like a fresh rezzed moron.

His hands were effectively tied as well. No one could be sent out without the other two's approval and even then it'd be brought forward to discussion by the head vanguard. Which means that nothing could happen for days and he'll be sitting on his ass like he already was. All it did was make him all the more frustrated about having given up his freedom to leave as he so pleased because at least then someone would be out there trying to figure out what happened.

The hunter buries his face in his hands with an exhausted sigh leaving him. He probably looked like hell at this rate. Throwing himself into long hours had made his sleep schedule an abysmal handful of hours in the past few days. Half the time he didn't know how he wasn't passing out during meetings. Be easy to. Pull the hood further down, lean down on the table and maybe get an hour or two of on and off rest. Might be the best time to try it out to be quite honest since the hall was dead before attempting it when there'd be actual repercussions to getting caught.

He grunts after stretching out on the table some, pillowing his head with his arms for something close to comfortable. Shade is called out of transmat to keep a watch on things while an attempt at a nap was made. The ghost whirling softly in concern but does as told.

Things suck. Might as well try to ignore it for the time being.]

I mean, could just stay in bed. Also could bring you breakfast in bed. Just sayin'. Win win situation right there.

Shouldn't the person that is less injured and didn't almost die do everything? Just saying? But if that's what you want to do, knock yourself out.

[He's a little more awake now, and leans in to steal a kiss.]

I think I can handle it. You're the one in worse shape right now. I'm content with already having you here so that's my good thing for a while.

[The kiss is certainly appreciated with him moving a hand to gently hold the back of Liam's neck, only breaking the kiss when he absolutely has to.]

[When he finally does break away, he doesn't move, but rather takes a moment to press his forehead against the hunter's and just enjoy the closeness.]

Told you, 'm tough. Besides, I'm totally about getting food that isn't field rations, those kind of suck after a while.

[He hums under his breath, grinning.]

Also, you're a sap. And I love it.

[He enjoys the moment for a bit before sliding over to the edge of the bed, rolling his shoulders and grunting at the cold floor. Staying in the bed was a lot more tempting but food.]

You are but as I said before, don't push yourself. So I've got it, ok? Make sure it's hell of a lot better than field rations.

[Looking back with a small smirk, he shrugs.]

Eh well I love you so you get to deal with it. Sorry not sorry. At least it's approved of.

See, next time then. Next time, I'm gonna be the one to get up and make you breakfast and all that sappy stuff. Promise.

[Oh, but oh he definitely heard that right, and no matter how long it's been, there's still a flutter in his chest, and he's grinning dumbly with the beginnings of a blush dusted across his cheeks.]

Yea alright, next time you can go all out. You can be an utter sap and I promise not to complain at all during it. However you'll have to get up before I do.

[It would be amusing to make it a sort of challenge for the titan because that's usually what ends up happening regardless. However it seems that Liam is more distracted by something else he's said. Good.]

Glad to know, dork.

[He gets up and heads around to the stairs, taking a brief pause to kiss the titan on the top of his head before going down.]

[Definitely a challenge, but he grins back all the same, gathering the blankets around his waist and watching as the hunter departs.

But getting up, getting up needs to be a thing because as nice as it is to luxuriate and relax for the time being, he's home finally and he doesn't want to waste too much of it just lazing about. Well, lazing about without James, with him that's a time well spent.

So he groans as he sits, sliding out of bed and first gathering the hoodie he'd thrown to the side the night before. No use in making a mess. Then it's to the shower, this time with actual clothes, until he's ready and padding out to the kitchen to observe.

He leans on the counter, grinning tiredly.]

Challenge accepted.

I figured you'd say that.

[Everything is laid out on the counter in an organized clutter as the hunter moves about the kitchen and cooking on the stove. It was going to be a simple breakfast but what mattered was the fact that he could still go all out for this.

No more times making simple toast or other crap in order to get out and working immediately in the morning. Now things could be a lot more than that. Though he would have to return to his job sooner or later and get back into routine.]

I can see that you're throughly enjoying running water.

What, am I that predictable?

[He's teasing though, far more invested in taking a peek at what's going on than actually inciting anything. That does include poking and prodding into some of the clutter, because he's certainly interested.

At the comment, he looks over, grinning wolfishly and raising a brow.]

Basically the best thing ever, though. Promise I didn't use all the hot water.

Yea, you really are. I have you figured out by now.

[He moves over to wave away the inquisitive titan out of his supplies before swiveling back around to continue his efforts. There's a brief pause in order to start up some coffee for himself, pulling out a well worn mug from the cabinet before setting that all up.]

Which is fine. However if you keep it up, I'll run out of hot water regardless. Might have to share showers in order to get some.

[Definitely was going to get shit for saying that. Cue the teasing in three, two, one...]

I mean, should hope so after all this time.

[There's a cursory protest about being shooed away, but he relents, fixing himself on the other side of the counter and leaning over. It's casual, and it's so very nice to be doing. Small things, small things.

But he's certainly rising to the bait; it would be so out of character for him not to. Smirk? Definitely a smirk.]

I mean, I am certainly appreciating the hot water, could probably go for another shower today too if that's what you're wanting.

I do like to think that I pay attention. Especially to you so...

[At the very least he has space to move around as he so needs to in order to make breakfast work like he wants to. Plus side, there's a fresh mug of coffee in his hands after a few minutes so win on that and--

Wait what? Oh. Oh that's absolutely a thing. Well isn't this coffee so interesting now. Definitely not using it as an excuse to hide the red in his face.]

I don't think you can handle one that hot.

Good, 'cause I like the attention.

[And that's a success, just look at that. The smirk definitely grows, and he feigns innocence, shrugging and shooting a knowing look over.]

Well, I mean I know it's gonna be hot since you're there, but I think I'm up to the challenge.

[That was awful.]

So I've noticed.

[That wasn't as bad as it could be and he has to raise an eyebrow at the comment. Sure enough Liam is smirking like a champion but that was not what he expected at all.]

Was that supposed to do something for me? Because that sucked.

Well, I mean, was it? Like I can think of a lot of other things to do with sucking that probably would perk your interest a little bit more.

[Nope, still awful, and he just doesn't care.]

I don't know. Are they all as awful as your comebacks?

[Still regretting but not as much as he could be so he'll yea he was going to play hard to get on this one. Seriously. Titan apparently lost some of his game on Venus.]

I mean, you've got to be the judge on that. I like to think at least some of 'em are pretty appreciated, judging by past reception.

[Digging the hole deeper and deeper, but now he's being challenged and there's no way he's backing down.]

[That earns itself a meager shrug from him as he leans against the counter next to the stove, sipping at his coffee with a small hum.]

Don't exactly remember them. You might have to jog my memory a little.

[Curses, he really has lost his touch it seems.]

Jog more than your memory, really.

[He laughs quietly at the effort than anything and he's back to focusing on cooking. Lose this round, titan. Soon enough he's fixing up the plates and keeping to his coffee.]

[Admit defeat to win another day; there will be a time and place, and he'll get his revenge. But for now, food is intensely interesting and he's fairly excited about being able to partake in something other than ration-quality garbage. Plus, for any crap that he's ever given the hunter, the man is a pretty decent cook, and so he's slowly but surely edging towards the plates, not at all stealthy about it.]

You do know that I can see you right now? I'm not that blind. Go ahead and eat.

[He rolls his eyes and shakes his head with another quiet laugh, turning away in order to get another cup of coffee before digging in himself. The titan deserved to have a good meal after what crap he probably had to deal with on the expedition. Besides he could always sneak away to do his training and a shower real quick if he managed.]

Psh, I don't know what you're talking about, I'm so stealthy. Totally.

[But food, food is such a good motivator, and breakfast is basically the best thing that he's tasted in weeks. He's more than happy to oblige, but not before leaning over to steal a lightning quick kiss.]
