Future Stuff ::1:: Been Up All Night
[This was not clicking for some reason. He has been staring at these reports for the past hour and half, nothing having been accomplished besides from papers being shuffled around in a semblance of productivity and knives thrown into the pillar behind him out of sheer frustration. His fingers tapping along the worn metal to keep himself from doing further property damage at this rate.
The bottom line was that stress was gnawing at him.
Not from the job though. If anything, reports should came as second nature after the past few months and coordinating had been relatively easy once the rough first week passed by. Being a vanguard should cause less stress than doing actually fieldwork yet here he was at a breaking point almost.
There was nothing. Absolutely nothing. Those stupid letters and photos and other bullshit weren't coming in anymore.
Something had to have happened and he's stuck here in this goddamn tower like a fresh rezzed moron.
His hands were effectively tied as well. No one could be sent out without the other two's approval and even then it'd be brought forward to discussion by the head vanguard. Which means that nothing could happen for days and he'll be sitting on his ass like he already was. All it did was make him all the more frustrated about having given up his freedom to leave as he so pleased because at least then someone would be out there trying to figure out what happened.
The hunter buries his face in his hands with an exhausted sigh leaving him. He probably looked like hell at this rate. Throwing himself into long hours had made his sleep schedule an abysmal handful of hours in the past few days. Half the time he didn't know how he wasn't passing out during meetings. Be easy to. Pull the hood further down, lean down on the table and maybe get an hour or two of on and off rest. Might be the best time to try it out to be quite honest since the hall was dead before attempting it when there'd be actual repercussions to getting caught.
He grunts after stretching out on the table some, pillowing his head with his arms for something close to comfortable. Shade is called out of transmat to keep a watch on things while an attempt at a nap was made. The ghost whirling softly in concern but does as told.
Things suck. Might as well try to ignore it for the time being.]

[But he grins widely all the same, unwilling to give anything away further. There's a small noise of amusement at the adjustments though, and he rolls his eyes dramatically, all in good jest.]
Am I all good and proper now though? Okay to leave the apartment?
no subject
[His own roll of his eyes and wraps the tie around his hand to tug Liam down some, smirking.]
You going to be a dick about this? Me and Shade can have a nice dinner on our own.
[A light teasing remark really. The ghost mentioned even moves over and glances between the two curiously, eye still flashing in and out.]
no subject
[But he's mirroring the smirk, grin toothy and amused at the action.]
I dunno, I'm sure Shade is great dinner company, but would you really be so cruel as to leave me here?
no subject
[The tie is released and he's moving towards the door, his ghost vanishing off into transmat but not without a final weird ambulance noise. There's a small shrug as he glances back, smirking.]
Alright, I'm not that mean. Maybe if you play your cards right, you can have what you wanted on Venus. Hm...what was it? Oh right. Me face first into the sheets and moaning for you.
[Definitely going to tease about that still.]
no subject
[But he's being released, and suddenly there's noise from Shade again and that catches his attention. Catches it so well that he almost misses James' next comment, but he does manage to pay enough attention. It has him raising his brows and huffing in mock indignation, though there's definitely an undertone of amusement in his voice as he makes haste to follow along.]
Hey, it gets super lonely out there, cut me some slack.
no subject
[He's already heading out the door by then, his hands casually in his pockets as he moves down through the hall. Hook, line and sinker though from what he can hear.]
I don't think so. Definitely won't on that one. It had to be uncomfortable though. Get all hard, in armor too, and not be able to do a damn thing.
no subject
[It's phrased so poorly, but there's definite meaning to his words, far more than he's really able to eloquently express.
And any eloquence that he may have had certainly takes leave as he furrows his brows and hurries after the hunter with a huff.]
Thought this was supposed to be a nice evening out. Like, my tie being crooked is gonna be the least of our worries if you keep that up.
no subject
[He's definitely being a little shit right now because this was such an interesting reaction that he was getting from Liam. Besides he was also passing the time to the restaurant which wasn't necessarily a bad thing at all.
A glance is thrown behind him as the titan catches, wondering if there was any change to be honest. So far not that he can tell and he's smirking. Tie was still in place. Good.]
no subject
[He shoots the hunter a mock glare, raising a brow and crossing his arms as if he's actually cross with the man, though he's keeping pace well enough.]
You want to be late to the reservation? Keep it up.
no subject
[Good luck on that one. He was more than certain that he was going to get the both of them to that restaurant and within time of their reservation. Smirk still out on display, he looks over.]
And here I was trying to make simple conversation.
no subject
[Now he's just teasing back though, and he leans over to gently nudge the hunter with his shoulder with a raised brow.]
no subject
[The nudge is retaliated with one of his own in turn, facing forward in order to not turn red at the moment. It was so far working though he didn't know for how long.]
Am I riling you up? Be a shame if we're late.
no subject
[He's grinning for a moment, before his brows furrow again and he shrugs as nonchalantly as he possibly can.]
I mean, you're the one talking about everything, and saying we have to be on time. I'm trying to be on my best behaviour.
no subject
[That's not too much of a joking tone he's hearing though so must mean that he needs to cool it and simply behave himself. He rubs the back of his neck while heading towards the city transport carriers.]
Fine. I'll stop. Sorry.
no subject
Never said you had to stop, just that we might be late if you didn't.
[Perhaps he shouldn't be so bemused, but he certainly is.]
Maybe I'll just have to let you know in detail what it was I was thinking of, at some point.
no subject
Fair enough.
I'm sure you'd enjoy doing so. Maybe if our ride is as private as I hope.
no subject
[But he's beaming nonetheless, and he reaches over to entwine his fingers with James.]
no subject
It made sense. Faster to get to plus less of a hassle than calling in our own ships. Besides I do have some sway here. But you deserve it...so yea.
no subject
You...you didn't have to do that.
no subject
[The terminal is soon enough found and he tugs the titan into the belly of the aircraft, giving his hand another squeeze before finding a suitable seat. Nerves were starting to plague him more but he had a handle on them. At least they were alone as he had asked for.]
Comfy at least.
no subject
[There aren't a lot of words for that, and he squeezes James' hand once, trying to convey everything that he's unable to say in the small gesture. It's more than he deserves, and there's a tightness to his chest at that.
And he's grinning because of it as he takes a seat, making himself comfortable.]
Riding in style. Better than cramped cockpits for sure.
no subject
[Listening to thrum of the turbines, he leans over to brush his shoulder against Liam lightly after getting comfortable himself. Then he's back to being focused and waiting for the pilot to start their descent, having grown used to being in this type of transport after his induction in order to move about the towers and the cities easier.
The titan still had a decent hold on his hand though which was a definite plus.]
We should be dropped off close by to the place.
no subject
[It's soft, and it's reverent, and he leans over for a soft kiss as the ride continues. He does behave though, though he doesn't release his grip on James' hand.]
It'll be perfect. Already is right now.
no subject
[Oh but that's a kiss which helps soothe his nerves some. There was no complaints or anything so he was doing something right.]
That's the plan hopefully.
no subject
[And it's honestly more than he ever would have expected, which is humbling in a way. That brings another soft grin, and another gentle squeeze of James' hand.]
Didn't I promise that it'd be? It's gonna. You're here, it's already perfect.
