Future Stuff ::1:: Been Up All Night
[This was not clicking for some reason. He has been staring at these reports for the past hour and half, nothing having been accomplished besides from papers being shuffled around in a semblance of productivity and knives thrown into the pillar behind him out of sheer frustration. His fingers tapping along the worn metal to keep himself from doing further property damage at this rate.
The bottom line was that stress was gnawing at him.
Not from the job though. If anything, reports should came as second nature after the past few months and coordinating had been relatively easy once the rough first week passed by. Being a vanguard should cause less stress than doing actually fieldwork yet here he was at a breaking point almost.
There was nothing. Absolutely nothing. Those stupid letters and photos and other bullshit weren't coming in anymore.
Something had to have happened and he's stuck here in this goddamn tower like a fresh rezzed moron.
His hands were effectively tied as well. No one could be sent out without the other two's approval and even then it'd be brought forward to discussion by the head vanguard. Which means that nothing could happen for days and he'll be sitting on his ass like he already was. All it did was make him all the more frustrated about having given up his freedom to leave as he so pleased because at least then someone would be out there trying to figure out what happened.
The hunter buries his face in his hands with an exhausted sigh leaving him. He probably looked like hell at this rate. Throwing himself into long hours had made his sleep schedule an abysmal handful of hours in the past few days. Half the time he didn't know how he wasn't passing out during meetings. Be easy to. Pull the hood further down, lean down on the table and maybe get an hour or two of on and off rest. Might be the best time to try it out to be quite honest since the hall was dead before attempting it when there'd be actual repercussions to getting caught.
He grunts after stretching out on the table some, pillowing his head with his arms for something close to comfortable. Shade is called out of transmat to keep a watch on things while an attempt at a nap was made. The ghost whirling softly in concern but does as told.
Things suck. Might as well try to ignore it for the time being.]

[Reaching into his breast pocket, he pulls out a small box before letting it rest on the table.]
I might have something to help with that.
no subject
There's a swell of emotion that threatens to overwhelm him for the moment, and he buries his face in his hand for a moment to try to bring himself back down to earth. He's grinning though, as genuine as he ever has, and he does spare a look over, voice slightly hoarse as he makes a valiant effort to sound casual.]
'Things you had to do' huh?
no subject
[An amusing as well as worrying reaction at first but the grin bodes well for his decision to have been a good one at the very least. He reaches over and flicks it open, studying the dark and light grey ring inside.]
Hull of a warsat. Can take a lot of damage before starting to show wear. I thought it'd be fitting for a titan, especially my titan.
no subject
[It doesn't seem quite real, and he's hesitant to reach out, but he does anyways, running his fingers over the ring almost reverently.]
...you...that's such....that's so cool.
[Maybe it's not best way to phrase things.]
no subject
[Cool? Well that was one way to describe it for sure and maybe expensive because warsat material was valuable even as scraps. He rests his hands in his lap as the other inspects the ring.]
You can put it on now if you'd like.
no subject
[The smile that he wears is soft, and as genuine as anything he's ever felt, and it's so very careful the way that he picks up the ring, turns it over in his fingers as he continues to examine it.]
I-
you want to do the honors?
no subject
[The ring is taken gently before he takes up the titan's hand, his chest tightening at the minor doubt of it not fitting properly. However the ring slides on with ease and he glances up.]
So...?
no subject
Like there'd be any other answer. Told you before, you're stuck with me.
no subject
I already accepted that, dork, if that wasn't obvious enough. I'm just...I'm happy to call you mine.
[He's distracted enough to not notice the server coming in with the drinks, far more invested in the man beside him right now.]
no subject
[Is it rediculously sappy? He could care less, because there's such a giddiness in his chest and a grin on his lips, and really the rest of the world isn't important right now, not so long as he's with the hunter. The server comes and goes, and he doesn't pay much mind.]
no subject
[His nerves have dissipated after finally bringing out the most important part of the night so he relaxes back into his seat with a small smile.]
Your bottle is here by the way.
no subject
[He offers a sheepish look over though, grinning all the same.]
Supposed to be for the both of us. 's a celebration, isn't it?
no subject
[The wine gets grabbed and glanced over before taking the time to pour both of them a glance, returning it back once done. He slides his glass closer but only to slowly turn it back and forth, smirking.]
It most certainly is. Trying to spoil me though? Usually it's beer for us.
no subject
[It's fond teasing and sincerity all in one, and he raises a brow and grins toothily.]
no subject
[He rolls his eyes and relents enough to take a sip, humming contently.]
Besides I have enough of that stuff back at home.
no subject
[He leans in after a moment to steal a soft, slow kiss.]
Love seeing you happy.
no subject
[A hand slips up to hold the back of the titan's neck, rubbing his thumb in soft circles before moving up to muss with his hair jokingly.]
Same can be said for you. Things are much better when you're enjoying yourself.
no subject
[He rolls his eyes jokingly and makes a valiant attempt at pretending to be upset by the mussing, but it's entirely impossible because he's grinning too widely to even hope to pull it off.]
no subject
[He doesn't actually mean anything by that and genuinely appreciates what the titan does, even if he gives a half-assed complaint or two sometimes.]
But you now know what I was up to. What about you? Did your errands go good while I was out?
no subject
[Evasive, but he grins over, taking interest in his wine glass.]
Mostly just messed up your workbench, yeah? Lot of.work to do.
no subject
[That response gets a raised brow because that sounds like a deflection for sure. However he relents, nodding.]
Really do. Helmet might take a bit but I'm glad it can be saved.
no subject
[He pauses for a moment, taking a sip before grinning over.]
Thanks again for gettingt those parts too. Should make everything a lot easier.
no subject
It's nothing though. However you're welcome. I know how much you love that helmet so it'd be rough to see it go. I started some repairs but everything else is up to you really.
no subject
[He makes a motion with one hand.]
Armor is built by people in the field, not in the city's forges. I can do as much as I can, because that's how it goes.
[There's a slight pause.]
Letting someone else touch your armor like that is a huge show of trust. You're basically trusting them with your life and wellbeing.
[He offers a small smile.]
I trust you with it. You make repairs? I know I'll be safe.
no subject
Oh that's definitely a thing. He glances down at his hands, flexing them at the thought of his repairs being that important. It made things a lot more dicey with the idea that if he screwed up...no don't think like that.]
Sounds much like what we do, us hunters. You can get gear of course from the quartermasters but the best gear is the one you make yourself. You know all of the ins and outs.
I need to make sure I have the correct stuff. Maybe invest in some other things to make things go more smoothly. Have some schematics so I don't mess up.
[He was definitely nervous once more but over something completely different now. Sighing, he takes a sip before rubbing the back of his neck.]
I'm glad that I'm that trustworthy though. It means a lot.
