Future Stuff ::1:: Been Up All Night
[This was not clicking for some reason. He has been staring at these reports for the past hour and half, nothing having been accomplished besides from papers being shuffled around in a semblance of productivity and knives thrown into the pillar behind him out of sheer frustration. His fingers tapping along the worn metal to keep himself from doing further property damage at this rate.
The bottom line was that stress was gnawing at him.
Not from the job though. If anything, reports should came as second nature after the past few months and coordinating had been relatively easy once the rough first week passed by. Being a vanguard should cause less stress than doing actually fieldwork yet here he was at a breaking point almost.
There was nothing. Absolutely nothing. Those stupid letters and photos and other bullshit weren't coming in anymore.
Something had to have happened and he's stuck here in this goddamn tower like a fresh rezzed moron.
His hands were effectively tied as well. No one could be sent out without the other two's approval and even then it'd be brought forward to discussion by the head vanguard. Which means that nothing could happen for days and he'll be sitting on his ass like he already was. All it did was make him all the more frustrated about having given up his freedom to leave as he so pleased because at least then someone would be out there trying to figure out what happened.
The hunter buries his face in his hands with an exhausted sigh leaving him. He probably looked like hell at this rate. Throwing himself into long hours had made his sleep schedule an abysmal handful of hours in the past few days. Half the time he didn't know how he wasn't passing out during meetings. Be easy to. Pull the hood further down, lean down on the table and maybe get an hour or two of on and off rest. Might be the best time to try it out to be quite honest since the hall was dead before attempting it when there'd be actual repercussions to getting caught.
He grunts after stretching out on the table some, pillowing his head with his arms for something close to comfortable. Shade is called out of transmat to keep a watch on things while an attempt at a nap was made. The ghost whirling softly in concern but does as told.
Things suck. Might as well try to ignore it for the time being.]

[What are words? Apparently not his strong suit, at the moment, and the flush deepens just the slightest bit as he smiles sheepishly.]
Just...this is amazing. You're amazing.
no subject
It's the least I could do for you, idiot. You deserve good things.
no subject
I got one sitting right here though.
no subject
[He gently pokes Liam in the chest playfully, smirking.]
no subject
[But he's just joking, grinning widely at James and rolling his eyes as if in jest. Food though, food is probably a good idea yeah, and he temporarily diverts his attention to the menu, scanning it with a critical eye.]

When the server finally leaves, he slumps back in his chair a bit, then reaches out to capture James' hand and entwine their fingers, giving it a slight squeeze to reassure them both.]
no subject
He reaches into his pockets to check that everything is still in order but ends up pausing at the hand around his. Guess he wasn't the only one nervous.]
You ok?
no subject
[The smile he offers is a bit weak, but it's genuine.]
...'m glad we're doing this.
no subject
Good. I am too. Kind of a big thing but enjoyable though.
no subject
[Life changing, if he's honest with himself.]
Should hope it's enjoyable though. Got some experience with big things, after all.
[Joking? Definitely joking, and it at least cuts some of the tension he's holding by a bit.]
no subject
[It would still be a great night regardless of the question and all never coming into play. Though he's not sure what he means by big things given the circumstances.]
I would hope so too.
no subject
[With that he gives a slight squeeze to James' hand.]
I want to. I want to be yours, no matter what happens.
no subject
[Reaching into his breast pocket, he pulls out a small box before letting it rest on the table.]
I might have something to help with that.
no subject
There's a swell of emotion that threatens to overwhelm him for the moment, and he buries his face in his hand for a moment to try to bring himself back down to earth. He's grinning though, as genuine as he ever has, and he does spare a look over, voice slightly hoarse as he makes a valiant effort to sound casual.]
'Things you had to do' huh?
no subject
[An amusing as well as worrying reaction at first but the grin bodes well for his decision to have been a good one at the very least. He reaches over and flicks it open, studying the dark and light grey ring inside.]
Hull of a warsat. Can take a lot of damage before starting to show wear. I thought it'd be fitting for a titan, especially my titan.
no subject
[It doesn't seem quite real, and he's hesitant to reach out, but he does anyways, running his fingers over the ring almost reverently.]
...you...that's such....that's so cool.
[Maybe it's not best way to phrase things.]
no subject
[Cool? Well that was one way to describe it for sure and maybe expensive because warsat material was valuable even as scraps. He rests his hands in his lap as the other inspects the ring.]
You can put it on now if you'd like.
no subject
[The smile that he wears is soft, and as genuine as anything he's ever felt, and it's so very careful the way that he picks up the ring, turns it over in his fingers as he continues to examine it.]
I-
you want to do the honors?
no subject
[The ring is taken gently before he takes up the titan's hand, his chest tightening at the minor doubt of it not fitting properly. However the ring slides on with ease and he glances up.]
So...?
no subject
Like there'd be any other answer. Told you before, you're stuck with me.
no subject
I already accepted that, dork, if that wasn't obvious enough. I'm just...I'm happy to call you mine.
[He's distracted enough to not notice the server coming in with the drinks, far more invested in the man beside him right now.]
no subject
[Is it rediculously sappy? He could care less, because there's such a giddiness in his chest and a grin on his lips, and really the rest of the world isn't important right now, not so long as he's with the hunter. The server comes and goes, and he doesn't pay much mind.]
no subject
[His nerves have dissipated after finally bringing out the most important part of the night so he relaxes back into his seat with a small smile.]
Your bottle is here by the way.
no subject
[He offers a sheepish look over though, grinning all the same.]
Supposed to be for the both of us. 's a celebration, isn't it?
