I wouldn't lie about this. Come on, dork, I'll show you.
[With that, he takes Liam's hand in his and guides him over to the kitchen where all of the supplies are awaiting on the counter along with the instructions for the charm. The reaper wanted the dullahan to enjoy all of the perks of the season and that always included a warm drink whenever.]
[At the sight of everything on the counter he grins, eyes bright with excitement that would perhaps be more proper on a small child. Looking over to James, he leans over to wraps his arms around the reaper and hug him tight to his chest.]
[Seeing such excitement on Liam's face is enough satisfaction for the reaper and there isn't anything else that he could ask for asides from making the dullahan happy. However a soft laugh slips out at the hug, nuzzling into the crux of the other's shoulder. His arms coming up to reciprocate the tightness.]
I try my best for you. That's the least you deserve.
[It was so worth going through the snow and dealing with the crowds to see his dullahan so easily amused and happy. He would do it again and again just to see that smile. One that he can't help but reciprocate as he holds Liam close and noses his temple gently before pressing a kiss there.]
[Stepping around the dullahan, he peruses through the supplies on the counter before finally finding the sheet of paper. Honestly he could have used his phone but sometimes it was better not have to scroll. The sheet is offered over.]
There you go. One recipe for hot chocolate that is the legit stuff.
[As he accepts the paper he shoots James a wide grin, but it's replaced by quizzical contemplation as he reads everything over. It's not Greek, but it feels like it's pretty close.]
Hey, just had to make sure. This is a lot more complicated than just ordering it at the coffee shop.
[And a lot more fun too, if he's honest with himself. But the chips go into the correct pan without much more fuss and he turns to look back expectantly.]
Well yea. I did tell you that this was going to be the real stuff. There's a lot of work to do instead of heating up water and throwing some powder in it.
[He laughs softly and comes over with spoon, checking over everything. The reaper reaches past the dullahan to turn on the appropriate burner.]
Hm well I'd love to meet this help then. Especially if they're going to be a dullahan's eye candy apparently.
[A soft laugh easing out as he slowly stirs the softening chocolate. His head cocking to the side in mock thought.]
I don't know. Not sure that we can do at the same time. This recipe isn't that time consuming. That doesn't mean I don't like it when other things get 'heated'.
[He returns the kiss, deepening it enough to be satisfying while not distracting enough that he doesn't run the chocolate. Then it's unto pouring the gooey goodness into the warming milk and stirring that together.]
Hrm I don't know about that. You're a pretty lucky dullahan to start with.
[The reaper pulls him in close and presses a soft kiss to his cheek with a grin. He can idly stir while paying attention to Liam. He could use more of these kinds of memories for the holidays anyway.]
I'm not the best. Pretty sure you could outmatch me if you got a hang of it.

You're amazing, you know that?

I try my best for you. That's the least you deserve.

[He's grinning bright into James' shoulder, and even with the temptation that hot chocolate offers he still can't bring himself to pull away.]
Thank you.

[He's grinning toothily now, leaning into the kiss with a pleased sigh.]
Probably won't burn the kitchen down.
no subject
[A soft laugh slips out as he shakes his head, grinning.]
I'm not looking to remodel yet. Let's try our best to avoid that.
no subject
[He leans over and steals a quick kiss.]
I'd pay for it if you did, promise.

[As he accepts the paper he shoots James a wide grin, but it's replaced by quizzical contemplation as he reads everything over. It's not Greek, but it feels like it's pretty close.]
But uh, maybe we should do this together.
no subject
Together sounds perfect. Can you pour the milk into the pot for me? Two cups will do.
no subject
[He grins into the kiss as the paper is stolen back, then moves to grab the milk as instructed.]
This pot right here?
[Without waiting for confirmation he pours the milk in.]
Done. Next?
no subject
[He glances back before measuring out the necessary amount of chocolate chips into a cup. It's then handed over to the dullahan.]
There's a pan on the stove. Put these in it and turn the stove onto low heat.
no subject
[This may very well be the first thing he's ever actually cooked, the learning curve is a little steep.]
no subject
[He glances back with a raised brow.]
So yea the other one.

[And a lot more fun too, if he's honest with himself. But the chips go into the correct pan without much more fuss and he turns to look back expectantly.]
Alright?
no subject
[He laughs softly and comes over with spoon, checking over everything. The reaper reaches past the dullahan to turn on the appropriate burner.]
Need to turn that on for sure.
no subject
[There's weight to his words, and he grins shyly as he leans over to brush his lips against his reaper's cheek.]
Step one then. It's on. Now what?
no subject
[He turns on the other burner to be on a low heat as he starts to stir around the chocolate. A smirk breaking out onto his face at the gentle kiss.]
That was more than one step but now got to wait for things to get heated.
no subject
[He grins crookedly at the man, a single brow raised.]
Heated, or 'heated' 'cause you can do one, the other, or both at the same time.
no subject
[A soft laugh easing out as he slowly stirs the softening chocolate. His head cocking to the side in mock thought.]
I don't know. Not sure that we can do at the same time. This recipe isn't that time consuming. That doesn't mean I don't like it when other things get 'heated'.
no subject
[He playfully noses at the reaper's cheek, gently kissing him with a quiet laugh.]
Yeah yeah, and it'd be a crime to burn good chocolate right?
no subject
[He returns the kiss, deepening it enough to be satisfying while not distracting enough that he doesn't run the chocolate. Then it's unto pouring the gooey goodness into the warming milk and stirring that together.]
Exactly. Be a real shame if I had to say so.
no subject
[The kitchen smells of chocolate now and it's warm and James is there; frankly he couldn't ask for more.]
Good. You've got some talent in the kitchen, after all.
